Trenton moved to Greenville after graduating from Virginia Tech where he received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering and minored in Green (Environmental) Engineering. He brings experience in conservation and environmental protection from working with the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service as a part of the Youth Conservation Corps at Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge. He joined Friends of the Reedy River as a way to give back to the community, and serve alongside passionate environmentalists.
In his free time, Trenton enjoys riding adventure motorcycles, mountain biking, camping, and spending time with friends and family.
Q: What is the most fun part-time job you've ever had?
A: During my summers in high-school I worked as a maintenance crew at Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge in Virginia Beach. What made this job so enjoyable was the variety of tasks we would accomplish on any given day. Our work ranged from invasive species removal, boardwalk construction, to general maintenance on the refuge fleet vehicles. During this role is where my passion for sustainability and conservation began!
Q: What is your favorite book?
A: My favorite book is titled "Raising The Bar" by Gary Erickson, the former CEO of Clif Bar. In the book, Gary relates his passion for outdoor sports to the business lessons he learned creating Clif Bar. I would highly recommend it to anyone passionate about both entrepreneurship and environmentalism!
Q: What's your idea of a perfect day in Greenville?
A: Each time I host guests who are new to Greenville, I follow an outline of the perfect day in Greenville which looks something like this: We'll start with a bike ride along the Swamp Rabbit Trail from Unity Park up to a lunch break at Sidewall Pizza in Travelers Rest. After the bike ride, we'll head downtown to walk main street along the Reedy in Falls Park, and typically end our evening at a brewery near downtown.
